One thing that I have been failing
at since school started is math. I was doing well the first two weeks and
staying on top of my homework. Once it got to the third week the sections
started to get harder and the problems were getting much more difficult. I’ve
never been good at math and it’s the one thing that frustrates me so much to
the point I don’t even try to understand it I just put it off. Like I said I
was doing good in the beginning and I got really good grades on my first three
quizzes.
The past two weeks my professor has
picked up the speed in the class which makes it more difficult especially since
the material is getting harder as well. Last week we had a quiz and I
completely failed, and I had a test on everything Monday. So once I got my quiz
back I realized if I wanted to do good on this test I needed to study a lot
more. I spent all day Sunday studying and trying to prepare for the test. I
went back online and completed all the homework I had procrastinated on. I was
glad I went back and did the homework because for Mondays test most of the
problems were identical. I received my test back later this week and was really
happy about my results!
This experience definitely showed
me that in college you can’t not do your work and expect to do well. As much as
I hate doing math I know I need to do my work as soon as it’s assigned to me
because it’s only going to help me in the long run. The more practice I get the
easier it will come to me. Not only does this go for math but all my other
classes as well. It’s really important to stay on top of your work and not fall
behind. Especially if it’s a subject your having difficulty with, that’s when
you want to get help right away instead of ignoring it.
